Rusty Painter

Rusty is Land Protection Director at Conservation Trust for North Carolina (CTNC). He oversees CTNC’s land protection efforts along the Blue Ridge Parkway and collaborative partnerships with local land trusts. Rusty holds a master's degree in forestry and a Master of Environmental Management from the Nicholas School of the Environment at Duke University. In his spare time, Rusty enjoys activities with his wife, son, and dog including canoeing, mountain biking, and hiking. Rusty and his family frequently enjoy walks through ECWA's 17-Acre Wood Nature Preserve, near their house.

Rusty is co-chair of ECWA's Land Protection Committee.
