ECWA Online Group and Email Listserv
From this page you can join the ECWA online community.
If you are an ECWA member or are simply interested in the Ellerbe Creek Watershed, you can join the email listserv we have established through Yahoo! Groups © (www.yahoo.com). The listserv is used by staff and members to share information about the watershed, sightings of birds and animals, and to announce bird walks, board meetings, and beautification activities.

To join the ECWA listserv (ECWA_List),
NOTE: You need to be a member of Yahoo! Groups © before you can join ECWA_List. If you aren't already a member of Yahoo! Groups, clicking on the "Join this group!" button will take you to a page where you can create your Yahoo! Groups account and then add ECWA_List as your first group.
Our listserv is a "moderated" group. Our moderator reviews all submitted messages to eliminate any email viruses and spam.
There is an informal listserv etiquette (part of the Internet etiquette or 'netiquette) which consists of a few basic rules:
Only write about items related to Ellerbe Creek
Keep your emails short and try to limit them to a single topic
Don't reply to the entire listserv if the response is not of general interest
For those unfamiliar with a listserv (i.e., email LIST SERVer), it is an email list with a theme; ours is the Ellerbe Creek Watershed. Every listserv has a host (ours is www.yahoo.com), a name (ours is ECWA_List), and an owner or moderator (our moderator is ECWA_List-owner@yahoogroups.com). Once you become a member of the listserv you can send email messages to everyone else by addressing your message to ECWA_List@yahoogroups.com. If you reply to one of these messages, your reply will be sent to the entire group. You can leave the list (unsubscribe) at any time.
SEND A MESSAGE: Address your email to ECWA_List@yahoogroups.com
REPLY TO ENTIRE GROUP: Use your email program's "reply" command to send your response to everyone on the list.
REPLY TO AN INDIVIDUAL: Type in the email address of the person you wish to receive your reply.
UNSUBSCRIBE: If you do not wish to belong to the ECWA_List group, you can unsubscribe by sending an email to ECWA_List-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com
SPECIAL NOTE: Because Yahoo! Groups values your privacy, it is a violation of their service rules for moderators to add subscribers to a group against their wishes. If you feel this has happened, please notify them at abuse@yahoogroups.com
