Although Ellerbe Creek is a decidely urban waterway it is home to a surprisingly broad and varied collection of "critters". Maybe you have been lucky enough to spot a Great Blue Heron fishing the creek, sitting in a tree or simply scouting the territory from several hundred feet in the air. Perhaps you've seen (and heard!) the Barred Owls that share our watershed. In addition to these attractions, the watershed is also home to other critters includiing beavers, box turtles, fishes, dragonflies and, of course, many other species of birds.
The lists on these pages represents many hours of dedication on the part of bird watchers and other naturalists and we are extremely grateful to them. So take a few minutes to peruse some of these critter surveys and then watch for them the next time you are in one of ECWA's nature preserves.
